Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How many lanes do we need?

Start from the peak arrival rate: a lane typically handles 30–40 people per minute. Add lanes for luggage, accessibility or visitor flow, and keep one staffed lane where possible.

Speed gate or swing barrier?

Speed gates are compact and fast for standard pedestrians. Swing barriers offer wider lanes for luggage, strollers and wheelchairs. Choose by the people and objects that must pass, not by appearance alone.

What happens during a fire alarm or power failure?

The lane controller should release the barrier on fire alarm and, where required, on power failure. Confirm the interface and fail-safe mode with the fire contractor and electrician.

Can the turnstile work with our existing access system?

Yes, standard relay and Wiegand interfaces are available. Share the controller output type and the required lane behaviour (bidirectional, free exit, interlock) before ordering.
