Villas & Townhouses Access Control & Video Intercom

A villa entrance has fewer people but more expectations: a clear view of the gate, reliable unlocking, and a monitor that fits the interior. The wiring method usually decides the kit.

In short

Typical configuration: PQ VEP7-CM2, TUYA TY75T-HTD2, AHD A72T-HTD2 for Villas & Townhouses. The reference design has 4 access layers and 5 deployment checks; final device counts, cable lengths and power are confirmed from the door list.

Site challenges

What makes access control at this site difficult.

01

Gate distance

The gate may be 30–100 m from the house. The kit must support the cable run without losing video quality.

02

Existing wiring

Renovated villas may have only two wires; new builds can use IP. The wrong choice means re-cabling or unreliable video.

03

Multiple entry points

Main gate, side gate and garage may need different call and unlock behaviour. Not every kit supports multiple door stations.

04

Interior design

The indoor monitor is visible in the living area. Size, colour and button style matter as much as the specification.

Reference architecture

Four access control layers, from entrance to platform.

01

Gate station

A door station with camera, call button and unlock relay, mounted at the pedestrian gate. For a driveway, add a second station or a vehicle gate controller.

02

Indoor monitors

One monitor in the living area and optionally one in the kitchen or master bedroom. Choose 7-inch for simplicity or 10-inch for a larger view.

03

Wiring

Two-wire kits reuse existing cable; four-wire and IP kits need the corresponding cable and power. Confirm the distance and cable type before ordering.

04

Door lock

A smart lock on the entrance door adds keyless entry for family members, with a mechanical key and battery backup.

Deployment checklist

Settle these six points before ordering.

A checklist is not decoration. It is the cheapest way to reduce site changes.

  • Measure the cable distance from gate to house.
  • Confirm whether the existing cable is two-core or four-core.
  • Decide how many indoor monitors are needed.
  • Check the gate lock type and power location.
  • Plan a weather cover for the door station.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Which kit is best for a retrofit villa?

If only two wires reach the gate, a 2-wire kit is usually the least disruptive. If four wires are available and the budget is tight, an AHD kit works. For new builds with network cable, consider IP.

Can one monitor answer two gates?

Some kits support two outdoor units. Confirm the model and the call routing (which gate calls which monitor) before ordering.

Can I answer on my phone?

App answering depends on the kit and whether a network gateway is included. Tell us the requirement; not every villa kit supports mobile access.

What is the maximum cable length?

Most kits in this catalogue are specified for up to 150 m over the recommended cable. Longer driveways may need a different cable gauge or system; share the distance.

Does the smart lock replace the intercom?

No. The smart lock controls the entrance door; the intercom lets you see and speak to the gate. They complement each other, and integration is not guaranteed unless specified.
