Overview

Tripod turnstiles use three rotating arms and admit one person per 120° rotation. They are common at factory gates, construction sites, stadiums and staff entrances, where durability and physical control matter more than speed. Sliding and full-height gates add a larger physical barrier for secure rooms and unmanned entrances.

The family uses 304 stainless steel housings, 550–600 mm lanes and 25–30 people per minute. Tripod arms drop on power failure for evacuation. Sliding and full-height models use a different mechanism and should be selected against the available space and the required security level.

Use the table below to match the mechanism to the site. These lanes are not the best choice for wheelchair users or large luggage; provide a separate accessible lane where required.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a tripod instead of a speed gate?

A tripod gives a strong physical one-person-per-rotation barrier and is simple to maintain. It is slower and not accessible, so it suits staff gates, factories and sites rather than busy lobbies.

Can a wheelchair pass a tripod turnstile?

No. Provide a separate accessible lane or door where wheelchair access is required.

What happens during a power failure?

Tripod arms drop automatically so people can pass. Sliding and full-height gates release according to the configured fail-safe mode.

Can tripods be used at construction sites?

Yes, the S102CJX-DZ variant has a flat top for a face terminal and is intended for site use. Add a canopy and confirm the power and network at the gate.

What is the difference between sliding and full-height gates?

Sliding gates use a sliding panel and suit lobbies; full-height gates create a taller physical barrier for secure rooms and unmanned entrances. Confirm the available space and the required security level.
