SW-HA-8ZI 8-Inch Face Recognition Terminal

50,000 faces, 120 ms recognition and IP66 protection for busy entrances.

A wall- or turnstile-mounted face terminal for offices, apartment entrances, campuses and factories. The 8-inch IPS screen, dual-lens live detection and offline mode keep entry moving when the network is not perfect.

Overview

SW-HA-8ZI is built for the entrance that sees hundreds of people a day. The 8-inch IPS display at 800 × 1280 gives enough room for a live camera preview, name confirmation and mask or attendance prompts without crowding the interface. A 2 MP colour camera works with a 2 MP infrared camera to reject photos and screens, so the terminal can run in unstaffed lobbies.

The embedded CNN algorithm compares a face in about 120 ms with a quoted accuracy of 99% or better. A 50,000-face library covers mid-size companies, residential communities and campuses; offline recognition keeps the door working if the platform or network drops. Wiegand and relay outputs connect to a turnstile, magnetic lock or door controller, while MQTT, TCP/IP, HTTP and WebSocket cover platform integration.

The housing is rated IP66 and uses a DC 12 V supply, so it can be mounted at a covered outdoor entrance as well as indoors. Installation options include wall mount and turnstile post mount. For projects that also need QR codes or ID-card verification, step up to the SW-HA-8EZI in the same series.

Selection & installation

Align the configuration and installation conditions.

Selection table — match the terminal to the entrance

Entrance conditionRecommended configuration
High-traffic office lobby 8-inch face terminal, 50,000-face capacity, Wiegand/relay to the lane controller
Covered outdoor gate IP66 terminal with sunshade and dual-camera live detection
Visitor-heavy entrance Face + QR + ID-card terminal with a platform visitor workflow
Factory with dust or gloves Face-first terminal with card fallback; covered mounting position
Existing card controller Use the face terminal as a Wiegand reader; keep the existing controller

Installation table — what to check before handover

ItemTypical setting
Mounting height 1.4–1.5 m to the camera for adults; lower for children or wheelchair users
Power DC 12 V at the door; share with the lock only if the supply is sized for both
Network Ethernet to a switch; fixed IP if the platform requires it
Outputs Wiegand or relay; confirm the controller format and lock current
Light Avoid direct sun and strong backlight; add a sunshade where needed
Enrolment Use standard photos and test with real users before rollout
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How many faces can the SW-HA-8ZI store?

The terminal stores up to 50,000 face records locally. Card and password capacity depend on the configuration; confirm the mix with us before ordering.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The housing is IP66, so it can be used at a covered outdoor entrance. Avoid direct rain exposure and confirm the sun direction; strong backlight is handled by the exposure algorithm but a sunshade improves stability.

Does it work with an existing turnstile or door controller?

Yes. The terminal provides Wiegand and relay outputs, so it can act as a reader for most controllers. Share the controller model and Wiegand format before ordering.

What happens if the network goes down?

Offline recognition and door control continue locally. Records are stored on the device and can be synchronised when the connection returns; confirm the platform workflow during commissioning.

Can it be mounted on a turnstile?

Yes. Wall mount and turnstile post mount are both supported. For turnstile mounting, specify the post diameter and lane height so the bracket matches.
